have you heard?

We're adopting again!

It should come as no surprise that adoption has become so very dear to us since welcoming home our precious Miles, Juliona and Shepherd. We praise God for placing this desire within us to grow our family through adoption. We are continually humbled at the beauty and blessing of each child's life and we marvel at the beauty of God's design for our family specifically.

For us, choosing to adopt is always a challenging decision. Each time we have encountered opposition as well as support. While we've understood that many view our decision for family growth differently, we are finding great encouragement in realizing that:

"If we are "out of our mind", as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again." 
2 Corinthians 5:13-15 

Frankly, I was hesitant to share the reality of the opposition until I realized what a testament of the Lord's transforming work in our hearts allowing us to view the opposition as a great source of confirmation in this path. We are thankful that we are being pushed to seek the Lord for our validation. And we are thankful that Christ's love compels us to do "out of our mind" things.

"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!"  
Ephesians 3:20-21


Our plan is to adopt through the state foster care system as we have in the past. We have just begun the process, so we aren't yet "officially" waiting. We still have our home study including all of the necessary paperwork to complete. Needless to say, we are so very excited for growth in our family and we can't wait to see who the Lord brings home to us!

  1. Commending your for your decision to grow your family thru adoption. We considered this at one time and I regret we didn't. I think that God appoints some very special people to take on this often daunting and yet rewarding life project. Blessings abundant!
